Site IA and Nav Redesign
BMW - 2012
BMW has some unique issues that require the North American arm to keep an eight-year-old site usable. One of the most bothersome hangers-on was a nav that featured three-level deep flyouts. Meaning the user would have to roll over a series, the roll over a model, then click on the model overview. This was annoying on desktop, let alone on tablets.
We revised this so everything was available from the initial flyout menu, and also made it easier to get to the two most popular pages when it comes to models – the Model Overview page and the Build Your Own experience. In this same round of fixes, we re-sorted the content so that the Owners section actually housed content pertinent to owners and so that all brand level content was grouped together.
Additionally, we fixed the All BMWs page, completely eliminate Flash-only pages.
